One of the top barriers for social entrepreneurs and social startups is access to funding. Usually, impact investors seek more advanced businesses, deeming early-stage social enterprises as too risky. Other barriers include not having a business plan or model, which in turn leads to running out of money for those able to secure funding.

IIF is a nonprofit fighting to remove barriers that constrain and stifle innovation in the areas of climate change, education, the metaverse, technology, and youth mental health. Through mentorship, education, funding, and research, IIF is an enabling community and arena where impactful social startups can succeed.

At IIF, we want to differentiate ourselves by educating startups on how to avoid financial failure by developing a business model with a predictable path to revenue and profitability. We are creating a community that creates relationships and connections between mentors, experts, and like-minded entrepreneurs to learn from other's past successes and failures.

Being able to pivot the direction of a business is not always easy. At IIF, we provide a safe space for ventures to pivot in order to raise the odds of success. We create customized research projects for social ventures we fund. Research allows social startups to plan and be prepared for their market and to pitch to investors.

The experts and creators at IIF have gone through the startup process before and can help avoid common pitfalls – particularly first-time entrepreneurs.
